We met in college at ballroom dance club, learning to waltz and swing dance. Not to worry, there was no stepping on each other's feet involved! Not long after that, we ended up going on our first date, sharing a pot of Moroccan mint tea and good conversation at a little place called Tea in Sahara.
10+ years together, from Providence, to Boston, to Seattle, to NYC, we've had so many adventures together and we're looking forward to so many more.
It was Christmas morning, 2021, our first Christmas together at the same location—this time, at Nick's parents'. We had just finished opening presents, but Nick got up and said there was actually one more present left! Julia started opening the little box and then realized Nick was kneeling on one knee in front of her. He had also secretly gotten Julia's family live on a video call so they could join in too.
He took the box, opened it to reveal the ring, and proposed! Teary eyed, Julia said: "Yes!"—of course :-).
